For instance, in some dialects of English, the letter "g" is often omitted in certain words, such as "nothing" becoming "nothin'". This omission reflects the dialect's tendency to drop final consonants, a phenomenon known as final consonant deletion. Similarly, in some African American Vernacular English (AAVE) dialects, the letter "r" is frequently omitted, leading to spellings like "brotha" instead of "brother".

For example, in a text message, someone might write "nothin'" instead of "nothing" to save time and effort.
