As a pitcher, Derek Bolt relies on three primary pitches: a fastball, a changeup, and a slider. Each of these pitches serves a distinct purpose and, when executed effectively, can be devastating to opposing batters.

Fastball
Bolt's fastball is his most frequently used pitch. It is a straight, four-seam fastball that he can throw with excellent velocity, consistently reaching speeds in the mid-90s. The fastball is Bolt's primary strikeout pitch, and he uses it to get ahead in the count and put batters away.
Changeup
Bolt's changeup is a slower, off-speed pitch that he uses to keep batters off balance. The changeup has good arm speed and deception, making it difficult for batters to pick up out of his hand. Bolt uses the changeup to induce ground balls and weak contact.
Slider
Bolt's slider is a breaking ball that he uses to strike batters out or get them to chase out of the zone. The slider has a sharp, downward break and can be very effective against right-handed batters.
